You choose your operating system during checkout. FormoHost VPS currently supports the following OS templates:
Ubuntu: 18.04 / 20.04 / 22.04 / 24.04 / 26.04
Debian: 11 / 12 / 13
AlmaLinux: 8.10 / 9.7 / 10.1
Rocky Linux: 8.10 / 9.7 / 10.1
CentOS: 7.9 / 8 / 9 / 10
Our recommendation: for new deployments, choose Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or Debian 12 — both receive long-term security updates. CentOS 7.9 and CentOS 8 have reached end-of-life and are provided for legacy compatibility only; we do not recommend them for new servers.
Windows availability varies by location — open a ticket before ordering if you need Windows.
To change your operating system after deployment, open a support ticket and our team will assist with the reinstallation. Remember to back up your data first: an OS reinstall wipes the disk.
